About The Position

As an Associate User Researcher, you will join a collaborative and innovative team to support user research efforts across some of the world’s most iconic gaming franchises. You will partner with studio stakeholders to execute research studies, analyze player data, and deliver insights that directly influence game design decisions. Within your first year, you will build proficiency in planning and conducting onsite and remote studies, performing data analysis, and contributing to impactful reports and presentations under the guidance of experienced researchers. This role is based in our Sherman Oaks office and follows an onsite work schedule of 3 days per week (Tuesday – Thursday). Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience conducting user research for console video games, or 2 years conducting user testing for websites or applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human-computer interaction, human factors, marketing, communications, market research, or a related field
  • Experience conducting structured research studies with participants across varied demographics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting research specifically within first-person shooter (FPS) games
  • Familiarity with user research tools, survey platforms, and data analysis techniques
  • Exposure to usability testing in game development environments
  • Deep enthusiasm for gaming culture and player experience
  • Curiosity-driven mindset with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Assist and lead user testing sessions, including lab setup, breakdown, participant intake/outtake, and test execution
  • Review game builds and capture player feedback during research sessions
  • Draft study plans, surveys, and reports under the guidance of senior researchers
  • Conduct basic data cleaning, analysis, and synthesis to support findings
  • Present research results and actionable insights to studio stakeholders
  • Provide design recommendations based on observed player behavior and research outcomes
  • Troubleshoot and maintain lab equipment including consoles, laptops, and streaming tools
  • Support onboarding and knowledge sharing with newer team members
