Associate Test Technician
About The Position
Element is hiring Seasonal Associate Test Technicians for its expanding Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) team at its Morgan Hill, California laboratory. Element conducts regulatory and conformance testing for wireless device certification and network test services. Under direct supervision, the Associate Test Technician performs routine and non-routine testing assignments and ensures timely, accurate results. The position is intended for candidates interested in beginning a career in electrical or RF engineering testing and compliance. The project is scheduled to run from November 2026 through March 2027. The listed salary range is $25.00–$27.50 per hour. Work shifts are either 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m.; overtime is expected.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM, a technical school certificate, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to learn quickly; teamwork and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
- Initiative and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk, stand, handle or feel objects, reach, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as part of job duties.
- Ability to periodically lift more than 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Perform and analyze SAR/RF and RF exposure compliance testing and evaluations in accordance with regulatory specifications.
- Compile and report test results using MS Word and MS Excel.
- Evaluate devices and determine applicable standards.
- Collaborate with the team and assist with developing and improving test methodologies, reporting, and task coordination.
- Maintain laboratory test methods and test equipment.
