Associate Test Technician
About The Position
Element is hiring Seasonal Associate Test Technicians for its expanding EMC team at its Morgan Hill, California laboratory. The facility provides wireless-device certification, regulatory and conformance testing, and network test services. Under direct supervision, the technician performs routine and non-routine testing assignments within the assigned department and ensures timely, accurate test results. The role is intended for people interested in beginning a career in electrical or RF engineering testing and compliance. The project is scheduled to run from November 2026 through March 2027. Work is offered on a day shift from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. or a night shift from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.; overtime hours are expected. The stated salary range is $25.00–$27.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Engineering (STEM) undergraduate students pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree; a technical school certificate is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to learn quickly; teamwork and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in team situations.
- Motivation, initiative, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk, stand, handle or feel objects with the hands, reach with the hands and arms, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to periodically lift more than 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Perform and analyze EMC/RF compliance testing and evaluations according to regulatory specifications.
- Compile and report test results using MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Evaluate devices and determine applicable standards.
- Work as part of a team and assist with developing and improving test methodologies, reporting, and task coordination.
- Maintain laboratory test methods and test equipment.
