The Associate Structural Engineer designs safe, efficient main and secondary structural systems for industrial exhaust ducting, supporting power generation projects that use large-scale combustion turbines. The role performs structural calculations, develops three-dimensional structural models, and collaborates with fabrication teams and other engineering and project personnel. Candidates able to work onsite in Addison, Texas, are preferred, though remote candidates may be considered. The position involves structural analysis and member sizing using LRFD and/or ASD methods under AISC 360, including bending, deflection, and stability checks. Analysis considers static, environmental, and operating loads, including wind, seismic, and thermal effects on exhaust ducting systems. The engineer develops models of ducting, internal liners, and support steel; ensures code compliance; supports fabrication; coordinates with project collaborators; and prepares structural calculation packages for client review. Travel is expected to be no more than 5% of working time. The position is described as remote-based, with primarily computer-based work and communication through virtual platforms. Occasional scheduled video meetings and collaborative tasks may be required. Work is generally performed under comfortable conditions and is sedentary, involving sitting most of the time and exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. The posting also lists possible duties or demands including standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions, as well as sustained concentration and visual attention for precise work.
