About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversee the delivery of complex structural engineering projects across a variety of sectors. The role combines technical expertise with project leadership, team development, client relationship management, and delivery of innovative building solutions.

The Associate Structural Engineer leads structural analysis and design, manages projects from design through construction and completion, coordinates with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and represents the engineering team at meetings and site reviews. The role also includes mentoring staff, overseeing technical documents, maintaining quality and commercial performance, and supporting business development. Positions are on-site in New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; and Boston, MA. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of significant structural engineering experience, including project or team leadership.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) licence.
• Demonstrated experience leading structural engineering projects during construction.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, building design, and applicable codes.
• Proven project management, client relationship, and team leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive approach to project delivery and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and design of structural systems for diverse building projects in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Manage structural engineering projects from design through construction and completion.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Represent the engineering team at client meetings, design reviews, and construction site meetings.
• Conduct site observations and respond to technical queries during construction.
• Mentor and develop engineering and drafting staff.
• Oversee the preparation and review of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Maintain high standards of technical quality, client service, project delivery, and commercial performance.
• Support business development and contribute to building strong client relationships.
