The Associate Software Engineer applies computer science, engineering, mathematical analysis, digital signal processing, and communication systems concepts to develop software for target applications, including embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment. The role works with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces, operational performance requirements, and overall system designs. The engineer participates in software and firmware development life-cycle phases, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing, in an agile environment. The role also develops test procedures, software programs, and documentation; uses modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data and conduct experiments; and participates in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair defects. The position uses a variety of programming languages and platforms. Work may involve C, C++, VHDL, scripting languages, and other listed languages, as well as embedded Linux and real-time operating systems and processor designs. DSP work includes time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, filter structures, and modulation and coding algorithms.
