About The Position

We're looking for a motivated Associate Software Engineer to join our engineering team in a role focused on AI-augmented software quality. You'll work at the intersection of AI tooling and defect management - using AI to triage, patch, test, and deploy fixes across our stack. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to prioritize defects, own the testing and deployment of AI-implemented patches, and help monitor and manage triage workflows for the broader engineering organization. This is a hands-on role where you'll be moving fast, learning the codebase deeply, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted development. This position will report to the Engineering Lead, and is on-site in Austin, TX! Availability to be in-office 4-5 days a week is required.

Requirements

Bias towards simplicity
Computer Science degree or equivalent demonstrated expertise
0-2 years of software engineering experience
Strong CS fundamentals including system design, data structures, and algorithms
Daily use of AI across the entire development lifecycle (planning, design, coding, testing, deployment).
Ability to read and understand code across multiple languages and frameworks
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills - you'll need to explain what you're finding and fixing to engineers and product stakeholders

Nice To Haves

Experience with full-stack codebases (backend APIs, frontend, mobile)
Familiarity with TypeScript/NestJS, PHP/Laravel, or similar frameworks
Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, e2e)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Experience with bug tracking and triage systems

Responsibilities

Triage and prioritize defects across the product, working with engineering and product teams to determine impact and urgency
Leverage AI tools to generate patches for defects and iterate on solutions
Own testing and validation of solutions - ensure fixes are correct, don't introduce regressions, and meet quality standards
Deploy fixes through CI/CD pipeline and monitor production for issues post-deploy
Build and improve workflows for AI-assisted defect resolution - document what works, what doesn't, and how to scale it
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product, and stakeholders to understand defect patterns and prioritize effectively
