About The Position

Moog’s Advanced Technology and Engineering Programs team within the Space and Defense Group’s Defense sector is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to help mature technologies for automated undersea and surface domains. The role involves specifying, designing, implementing, and verifying automated detection and targeting systems, turret control, perception, and vehicle control systems. The team develops prototype products and advances new capabilities toward TRL 5/6 before transitioning them to business units for further development and scaling, with an emphasis on testing hardware in live scenarios. The engineer will develop perception and control software using industry-standard packages for real-time sensor control and object detection and tracking. The role also includes designing and developing embedded software that controls actuation systems and wheeled or tracked vehicles, and working with hardware and components to build architectures for next-generation defense systems. The position is onsite in Buffalo, New York, and requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
