About The Position

As an Associate Software Engineer on the Search Team at OCLC, you will learn and contribute to software development under the guidance of senior engineers. You will write, debug, and test code; assist with developing and maintaining software applications; and troubleshoot technical issues. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, refine, and implement features and enhancements. The role involves learning OCLC's technology stack and development processes, including work with Java, Spring, RESTful APIs, web services, SQL databases, Linux/Unix, and version control.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, the Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, web services, SQL databases (MySQL or Oracle), Linux/Unix, and version control (Git or SVN).
• Basic understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience integrating AI tools, frameworks, and concepts into the software development process.
