About The Position

Affirm is investing in search as it builds a new Ads business and evolves Marketplace into a leading shopping experience. The Software Engineer I, Fullstack (Search) works with team support on tasks contributing to the team's projects and goals. The role involves collaborating proactively with teammates and stakeholders, communicating risks and trade-offs, balancing speed with quality, and helping protect systems from downtime. The engineer also contributes to team community through growth and development activities.

Requirements

• Previous work or internship experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to turn a straightforward problem or business scenario into a solution involving multiple software components, and implement it with clear, understandable, well-tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging other engineers' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
• Demonstrated ownership of personal growth, including proactively seeking feedback from the team, manager, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Equivalent practical experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
