About The Position

The Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer works within the World Bank Group’s Information and Technology Solutions Vice Presidential Unit and the Corporate Solutions Department, in the Corporate Digital Backbone unit. The unit develops an autonomous digital backbone for coordinating data, transactions, processes, and insights across corporate services, including application modernization, data exchange, analytics, enterprise integration, automated processes, and agentic AI.

The role provides technical leadership across multiple AI initiatives and complex AI-enabled business solutions. It leads the design and delivery of AI agents, orchestration solutions, MCP servers, APIs, and knowledge platforms; establishes reusable architectures and standards; oversees implementation and operational readiness; and drives solution performance and continuous improvement. The officer also supports enterprise governance, security, and responsible AI compliance, serves as a technical liaison between business stakeholders and Enterprise AI teams, and mentors colleagues.

Requirements

• A master's degree and at least 8 years of progressively responsible experience; or a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading complex AI or automation initiatives.
• Experience providing technical leadership across multiple projects or teams.
• Experience designing AI-enabled solutions, integrations, and orchestration capabilities.
• Strong mentoring, stakeholder management, and solution architecture skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively, act decisively, maintain momentum under pressure, proactively resolve bottlenecks, and deliver without sacrificing quality.
• Ability to champion new ways of working, constructively challenge the status quo, build support for change, and help teams navigate transitions.
• Ability to connect day-to-day decisions to strategic goals, engage stakeholders credibly, and apply sound judgment in light of organizational priorities and the broader operating environment.

Nice To Haves

• Recommended certifications: Certification in AI Ethics, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Google Machine Learning Engineer, Google Generative AI Leader, SAFe DevOps, or SAFe for Architects.
• Experience working in fragile, conflict-affected, and violent (FCV) contexts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, disciplines, cultures, and institutional boundaries.
• Experience responsibly leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance productivity, learning, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between business stakeholders and Enterprise AI teams.
• Routinely lead complex projects and integrate the work of multidisciplinary professional staff.
• Contribute to strategy, analysis, and policy formulation, and advise functional management.
• Identify and evaluate systemic issues and analyze complex issues.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on strategically important matters and, as needed, interact with external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff.
