About The Position

The Associate Scientist, Protein Therapeutics API Development – Biologics Therapeutics Development & Supply performs process development and manufacturing for large-molecule cell culture processes. Based in Malvern, Pennsylvania, the role supports multiple large-molecule programs and works with project teams and support functions to meet program goals. The Associate Scientist provides technical expertise, maintains documentation and equipment logs, reviews analytical data, and follows laboratory safety procedures. Periodic weekend work is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture manipulations using a variety of cell culture vessels, such as shake flasks and wave bioreactors.
• Experience with large-scale and single-use bioreactors, including assembly, preparation, operation, and maintenance.
• Experience with Clean In Place and Steam in Place procedures.
• Experience with upstream processing of large molecules.
• Experience with ViCell BLU, Metaflex, and OmsoPro analytical equipment.
• Experience maintaining written work records in electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Availability for periodic weekend work.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell culture process operations from vial thaw through bioreactor harvest.
• Record and analyze experimental data, verify data integrity and accuracy, and report or summarize findings to the project team.
• Work closely with project teams and collaborate with support functions to meet or exceed program goals and objectives.
• Provide technical expertise to multiple large-molecule programs in a diverse team setting.
• Maintain proficient documentation and review analytical data.
• Maintain equipment logs and assist with resolving equipment downtime.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures.
