About The Position

Prosperity Partners (“Prosperity”) is a Chicago-headquartered public accounting firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States, we are seeking an energetic tax professional to support our growing SALT practice. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, superb accounting skills, budding leadership qualities and excellent communication and client service skills. The candidate will work with a wide variety of company clients and will participate in accounting and tax projects. Candidates will prepare state and local income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and other entities. Candidates will also research multistate income tax issues and develop client-focused planning strategies. Candidates should be able to multi-task, respond to demanding client needs and thrive in a deadline-driven industry. Requirements

  • Accounting Degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • CPA designation or working to obtain CPA qualification.
  • Prior accounting experience via full-time employment.
  • Proven understanding of transactional accounting and entries and the ability to draft GAAP-based financial reports.
  • Proficient in accounting/tax software programs.
  • Experience performing tax research and preparing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities.
  • Ability to provide technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant state tax concepts.
  • Success in prior work experience with the ability to self-manage and prioritize assignments and client interface.
  • A strong work ethic combined with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable excelling in both solo and team driven environments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work in the office at least 3 days per week.
