About The Position

Prosperity Partners is a public accounting firm headquartered in Chicago, offering tax, accounting, and personal finance services. They are seeking an energetic tax professional to support their growing State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, exceptional leadership qualities, and at least three years of public accounting experience, with excellent communication skills being essential. The role involves reporting to Managers and Partners, working directly with clients on tax preparation and consulting, preparing workpapers, researching complex tax issues, and communicating effectively with clients. The candidate should be comfortable in a deadline-driven environment with demanding clients.

Requirements

Accounting Degree from an accredited four-year university
3+ years’ experience in a tax-focused position
Experience performing tax research and preparing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities
Proven understanding of complex accounting entries
Solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts
Success in prior work experience with the ability to self-manage, prioritize assignments and interface with clients
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to communicate complicated matters to clients or government agencies
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and to multi-task
Enthusiasm for technical topics and interested in learning opportunities via research, CPE and discussions with peers
Contributes to an established culture of positivity and respect
Self-motivated to seek new projects
Recognizes strengths and weaknesses and appreciates peer feedback
Availability to work in the office at least 3 days per week
