About The Position

The Associate, Sales role within Goldman Sachs Wealth Services, L.P. in Miami, Florida focuses on providing comprehensive tax planning and wealth management services to high-net-worth clients. This includes executing tax planning strategies, managing tax filings, coordinating with clients and external experts, preparing financial statements, and collaborating with internal teams to align tax strategies with investment objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of US tax laws, estate planning, and financial analysis to support clients in achieving their financial goals while ensuring compliance and mitigating tax liabilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Business, Taxation, or related field.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) or three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) in the job offered or a related role.
  • One (1) year of experience (with a Master’s) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s) with preparing federal and state individual tax returns, extension estimates, and tax equalization calculations.
  • Experience with complex tax concepts including AMT, SALT limitations, and multi-state residency rules.
  • Experience assisting in the drafting of estate flowcharts, gifting strategies, and reviewing wills and trust documents.
  • Experience working with advisors or partners to compile sensitive financial documents and assist in the creation of client deliverables.
  • Experience communicating with high-net-worth individuals, focusing on confidentiality, precision, and proactive responsiveness.
  • Experience assisting in the preparation of personal balance sheets, net-worth statements, and detailed cash flows projections to assist with liquidity planning and scenario modeling.
  • Experience coordinating with legal, tax, and investment professionals to gather documentation and ensure timely filings.
  • Experience assisting in the drafting of charitable contribution summaries, coordinating with donor-advised funds, private foundations, and nonprofit legal teams, and handling of tax treatment of donations and compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Execute tax planning, projection, and review for US and foreign high-net-worth portfolios.
  • Prepare annual tax planning strategies and proactive tax mitigation plans.
  • Review tax filings to ensure compliance with US tax laws.
  • Coordinate with clients, accountants, and legal counsel to gather information for filings and quarterly reviews.
  • Manage client requests and facilitate quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare extension estimates and federal/state tax extension payments.
  • Develop tax equalization models for multi-jurisdictional individuals.
  • Prepare net worth statements, compiling balance sheets of client assets, liabilities, and net worth.
  • Create estate flowcharts, wills, execute wealth transfer processes, and implement gift strategies or trust funding.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis to support budgeting, investment planning, and tax payment planning.
  • Support donor-advised funds, private foundations, and charitable trusts, assisting with charitable contributions and compliance.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and advisors to align tax strategy with investment objectives and enhance client experience.
