About The Position

Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. Reporting to a Regional Manager, the Associate Sales Representative is responsible for learning equipment, products, and procedures through business support activities such as supporting case coverage, maintaining capital equipment performance, providing customer in-services, equipment transport and inventory logistics. Other responsibilities include engaging in selling activities via demonstrations and trials as opportunities present themselves. This role may support a single Executive Sales Representative, multiple Executive Sales Representatives in a territory, or an entire district. The position requires the propensity to develop strong personal relationships and sell capital and disposable products; the drive and willingness to develop into a Territory Manager by taking ownership of professional development and proactively engaging Regional Sales Trainer(s) and ENT ESMs to learn necessary technical and sales competencies.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in sales, with experience in medical device applications preferred.
  • Domestic: 30-60%; some overnight stays required.
  • Travel Requirements: within designated sales territory with 2-4 overnights a month.
  • Infrequent national travel for events and conferences
  • All field sales professionals who are required to gain entry into healthcare facilities to perform the basic remit of their role must successfully complete the credentialing process and comply with the requirements of those facilities they support, which can include adherence to any established vaccine protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Support the territory sales team to enable more selling time for territory ESM.
  • Cover cases for ESMs and provides moderate sales support.
  • Assist in the maintenance of ENT equipment and provide technical support to clinical staff as required.
  • Support inventory logistics as assigned.
  • Explore and engage in selling opportunities by building relationships with key clinical staff.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction as a high priority.
  • Provide technical information to surgeons consistent with product user manuals and instructions for use.
