About The Position

This Associate Sales Representative (ASR) position is within the Neurosurgical business unit and requires 95% overnight travel throughout the United States. The ASR will provide coverage for Sales Representatives on leaves of absence, which typically last 4 weeks or longer, potentially exceeding 3 consecutive months. When not covering for leaves, the ASR will work with regional Sales Representatives to aid in the planning, directing, and coordination of selling and marketing Stryker products. The role involves educating healthcare professionals on product usage, functionality, and updates, promoting Stryker products, and developing customer relationships. Following extensive product training, the ASR must be able to tailor promotional messages, advise on product selection, answer questions, and differentiate Stryker products from competitors. The position may also involve directing product evaluations, assisting with trade shows and conventions, keeping sales representatives informed of territory progress, solving product problems, and potentially assisting in training sales personnel. Adherence to OSHA and GMP guidelines, as well as proficiency with the Stryker SIS program, is required. A 12-month commitment to the role is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2+ years of proven work experience.
  • Medical related fields preferred.
  • Prior sales or marketing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to readily solve customer complaints and questions.
  • Must have command of all products sold or marketed by the business unit, including functionality, features, and factors that differentiate Stryker products from its competitors’ products, and be able to disseminate this knowledge to the customer.
  • Must be able to analyze territory market potential prioritize call patterns accordingly.
  • Must exhibit a base understanding of computers for best utilization of Stryker SIS program.
  • Must adhere rigidly to all GMP policies and procedures as stipulated by the FDA.
  • Must understand and adhere to all OR and pertinent OSHA guidelines when conducting a product evaluation.
  • Must possess unwavering ethics & integrity in a competitive and demanding work environment.
  • 12 month commitment to the role to allow for coverage and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for Sales Representatives on leaves of absence, typically 4 weeks or longer (can be up to or exceed 3 consecutive months).
  • Work directly with Sales Representatives within a region to aid with the planning, directing, and coordination of selling, marketing, and portion of Stryker products, when not covering for Stryker employees on leaves of absence or supporting other business coverage needs.
  • Educate and inform doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel as to the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products, product functionality and updates, changes to product portfolio, and educational programs.
  • Promote Stryker products to doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel while providing excellent customer service and developing the customer relationship.
  • Tailor Stryker’s promotional message based upon knowledge of the customer, advise on appropriate product selection, answer customer questions about product functionality, and distinguish Stryker products from those of Stryker’s competitors.
  • Direct product evaluations in OR and office settings.
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of trade shows, conventions, and/or clinical meetings.
  • Keep sales representatives informed of territory progress on a regular basis.
  • Solve product problems for customers in an expeditious fashion.
  • Assist in the training and development of sales personnel.
  • Understand and adhere to all OR and pertinent OSHA guidelines when conducting a product evaluation.
