About The Position

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer (Supply Chain) to join their North America team. This role involves managing supplier data in SAP, implementing Lean Six Sigma improvements, and acting as a link between suppliers and internal production goals. The position requires ownership of supplier recovery plans and ensuring "On-Quality, On-Time" delivery in the aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering / Procurement / Logistics or equivalent knowledge gained through four (4) years of work experience
  • Two (2) or more years' experience in quality, logistic or procurement related fields

  • Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (a U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs/5kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs/5kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier quality approval/authorization, ensuring compliance with certifications.
  • Update supplier data in IT Systems (SAP, C-SAAM, etc.).
  • Perform Audit-by-Mail activities.
  • Support the Supply Chain Risk Analysis process.
  • Act as a focal point for suppliers for operational activities and contract management.
  • Assess suppliers during the tendering phase and contribute to selection decisions.
  • Manage supply chain & quality aspects of contracts, ensuring On Time, On Quality, and on Cost performance.
  • Initiate and manage supplier performance improvement projects.
  • Contribute to the annual Supplier Evaluation Development (SED).
  • Present and report on supplier operational performance during Multi-Functional Team (MFT) meetings and to management.
  • Train suppliers on AH Group Contractual Industrial and AHI requirement standards.
  • Implement Supply Chain Corrective / Improvement / Development missions using Lean 6 Sigma principles and APQP tools.
  • Find solutions to complex technical supplier issues using tools like Practical Problem Solving (PPS), Six Sigma, 8D, and Kepner Tregoe.
  • Track and report supply chain progress at the commodity level to management and internal customers.
  • Facilitate PPS projects for AHI and the supplier chain.
