Associate Proposal Writer
About The Position
This position initiates writing and coordinates activities associated with the request for proposal (RFP) process, ensuring high-quality service consistent with company policies, procedures, and philosophies. The Associate Proposal Writer participates in resolving RFP-related issues and ensures follow-through to resolution. With support from a proposal writer or senior proposal writer, the role coordinates projects while adhering closely to detailed customer specifications. It also drafts proposal-ready response materials for use as references in future proposals or internal requests. The position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field, or four years of proposal development or marketing experience.
- Demonstrated creative and business writing skills.
- PC skills and experience with Microsoft products.
- Verbal and written communication skills to complete Requests for Proposals, coordinate activities with many departments, and incorporate layman’s terms in proposals.
- Demonstrated project management, organizing, planning, and scheduling skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience and skills with proposal automation software such as Qvidian or Responsive.
- Proposal writing experience in the commercial field.
- Prior experience in a business setting working in a proposal development unit, marketing, communications, or publishing.
Responsibilities
