The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges is responsible for managing the full life cycle of over 800 bridges and tunnels and over 600 retaining walls, ensuring safety of the public and ensuring mobility for all users. Team members may work on major project designs, oversee construction, oversee maintenance activities, perform engineering reviews and quality assurance tasks on some of the most iconic and complex projects in the City. Serves as Engineer-in-Charge in the Bridge Management Section of the Bureau of Bridge Maintenance, Inspection and Operations, Division of Bridges. The Division is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and long-term serviceability of New York City's bridge infrastructure. Within the Division, Bridge Management plays a central role connecting inspection findings, load rating results, asset inventory data, deterioration modeling, and capital planning to identify structures requiring rehabilitation, replacement, posting, restrictions, or inclusion in future capital programs. The selected candidate will lead the implementation, administration, and continuous enhancement of AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) as the primary platform for bridge inventory, inspection data management, performance tracking, and asset management decision-making. This position will oversee the integration of BrM databases, analytical modules, and custom reporting tools to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant bridge data workflows. The position provides critical engineering capacity to manage an aging and complex bridge inventory while meeting increasing demands for data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data-driven project prioritization.
