About The Position

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Science Center- Shreveport seek applicants for an Associate Program Director for Sports Medicine Fellowship. Primary care Physician with CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine to assist the department chair (Peter Seidenberg, MD, MA, FAAFP, FACSM, RMSK) and the division director (Charles Webb, DO, FAMSSM, FAAFP) in continued expansion of a world class primary care sports medicine division in Northern Louisiana. This Sports Medicine physician will treat patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal issues, medical problems, concussions, exercise and lifestyle medicine, and utilize musculoskeletal ultrasound in active individuals. They will partner with local universities, high schools, as well as professional/community athletic organizations in developing programs and providing comprehensive sports medicine care. Must be Board Certified in Primary Care with a CAQ in Sports Medicine and be eligible for active Louisiana Medical Licensure. Our health sciences center is home to the School of Medicine, School of Graduate Studies and School of Allied Health Professions and a robust research enterprise. More than 800 students are enrolled in the degree programs at any one time. Additionally, nearly 600 residents and fellows are trained each year. Collegial and multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to collaborate on a customized plan of care for each patient. Physician leadership and input at all levels of administration. EPIC medical record platform utilized The Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana provides healthcare to more than 140,000 patients across North Louisiana with 600,000 clinic visits annually. There are more than 20 locations, including North Louisiana’s only Level I Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center at its acute care hospital, a newly renovated hospital with women's and children's services in Shreveport, La. and an acute care hospital in Monroe, La. designated as a Level III Trauma Center. Requirements

  • Must be Board Certified in Primary Care with a CAQ in Sports Medicine
  • Eligible for active Louisiana Medical Licensure

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient sports medicine clinic
  • Outpatient family/primary care medicine clinic
  • Option to serve as attending on the family medicine inpatient service
  • Leadership opportunity as Associate Program Director of our Sports Medicine Fellowship
  • Assist with outreach efforts of the Sports Medicine Program to grow coverage of local universities, colleges, high schools, and other sports organizations. This will include sideline and training room coverage.
  • Serve as faculty for the primary care sports medicine fellowship, family medicine residencies, and School of Medicine
