The Department of Sociology and Criminology at The Pennsylvania State University, in University Park, PA, USA, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position, at the rank of Associate Professor, to start in Fall 2027, with flexibility. A Ph.D. in Sociology or related field is required by the appointment date. Candidates for Associate Professor of Sociology must have demonstrated excellence as a researcher, scholar, and teacher, and have an established reputation of scholarly achievement. Responsibilities and Duties will involve a combination of teaching, research, and service, based on the candidate’s qualifications. Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job. The successful candidate will have expertise in social psychological approaches to studying groups, communities and social networks and will be able to use experimental and survey methodology in their scholarship. The successful candidate will also have experience teaching undergraduate and graduate-level theory and social psychology courses and be able to teach other courses offered by the university.
