About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Associate Professor/Professor to lead the classical hematology section. This role involves participating in clinical and translational research related to hematology and training medical residents, fellows, and other associated personnel. The Hematology Division has a well-established Clinical Trials Unit, offering opportunities for drug development and other studies, along with tissue banking. The campus provides extensive resources for basic science, translational, and clinical research in hematology, with opportunities for cross-divisional networking. The Division is committed to the clinical and academic success of the new faculty member, aiming to establish the University of Colorado as a center of excellence in hematology.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified in Hematology
  • Eligible for Colorado state medical license
  • Experience in treating patients with classical hematological disorders
  • Able to obtain credentials and privileges at the University of Colorado Hospital and with CU Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Ambulatory-based patient care, caring for patients with hematologic pathologic conditions
  • Lead a group of faculty members dedicated to classical hematology
  • Partner with Hospital and School of Medicine partners to build a hematology program
  • Supervising nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, fellows, residents, and medical students as needed
  • Carrying out a research program
  • Participating in and leading outreach activities, including outreach clinics outside the CU-Anschutz campus, educational events for patients and their families, camps for patients, work with patient advocacy groups, and other similar initiatives
