About The Position

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, beginning August 2027. The area of specialization is Metaphysics or Epistemology, broadly construed to include Philosophy of Science and Philosophy of Mind; the area of competence is open.

The department seeks an established scholar who will pursue a vigorous research program at a level commensurate with an AAU institution, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate fully in the normal activities of the department. Candidates whose work spans more than one area of specialization are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants should submit a complete dossier consisting of a cover letter, CV, research statement, and writing sample through the University of Miami Careers Website.
