The School of Nursing at the University of Maine seeks applicants for a full-time, academic-year, tenure-track, Associate/Full Professor position. The initial appointment for this position will be to serve as the PI on an existing Department of Education Grant to launch New England’s first PhD program in Nursing. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership for the development and implementation of the program. The faculty member will ensure the quality and alignment of the PhD curriculum, support faculty teaching within the program, recruit and mentor doctoral students, and develop partnerships with healthcare organizations and institutions of higher education. The position will also advance the School of Nursing’s research mission through an active program of scholarship, grant development, research dissemination, and doctoral-student mentorship. The faculty member will teach graduate and undergraduate nursing courses as assigned and contribute service to the School, University, profession, and public. At the conclusion of the DOE grant, the teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities will be negotiated based on ongoing need. Typical hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
