About The Position
The UofL School of Medicine, affiliated with Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking a pediatric rheumatologist division chief with administrative and clinical experience for the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The faculty member would join a dynamic team dedicated to meeting the needs of children through clinical care, education, and research. The UofL School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Rheumatology has worked together with Norton Children’s Hospital to care for the patients of the region, train the doctors of tomorrow, conduct research and innovate in the field of child health for nearly 100 years. Together, they look to grow significantly in the coming years to carry out their shared mission: Be the region’s most comprehensive and preferred health care system for pediatric patients from infancy to young adulthood. Train tomorrow’s pediatric health care providers and leaders. Translate clinical research to state-of-the-art bedside care. Promote healthy families through advocacy and community engagement. As an integrated entity since 2020, the UofL School of Medicine affiliated with Norton Children’s Medical Group has recruited well over 100 providers; added four new accredited fellowships; expanded outreach throughout Kentucky; and increased funding through National Institutes of Health grants, industry-sponsored grants, and registry and trial drug funding through Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. The ideal candidate will join an engaged team of clinicians dedicated to leveraging clinical care and research to meet the needs of children. Collaborative efforts between the clinical practice and academic division include established multidisciplinary clinics and ongoing research initiatives. The faculty member is expected to guide and mentor junior faculty and trainees in their career development, foster growth in clinical areas, expand scholarship and educational opportunities and establish an affirmative, positive working environment that leads to retention, in which all team members can thrive. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
