About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation (KHPR) at the University of North Texas is seeking an accomplished scholar for a tenured/tenure-track Associate Professor position in Exercise Physiology with expertise in sports nutrition and/or nutritional supplementation. The successful candidate will lead and expand a nationally recognized, externally funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, publish scholarly work, develop interdisciplinary collaborations, provide leadership in curriculum development and program growth, and contribute to departmental and university service. The Applied Physiology Laboratory provides a well-equipped research facility supporting this role.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Qualifications for appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor.
  • An established, continuous record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating sustained scholarly excellence.
  • Evidence of a successful, externally funded research program.
  • Demonstrated excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching.
  • Experience mentoring graduate students and early-career faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand a nationally recognized, externally funded research program in sports nutrition and/or supplementation.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise physiology, sports nutrition, metabolism, and related disciplines.
  • Mentor master's and doctoral students while fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
  • Publish high-impact scholarly work and present research at national and international conferences.
  • Develop interdisciplinary collaborations across the university and with external partners.
  • Provide leadership in curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and strategic program growth.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service.
