About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health seeks a teacher-scholar in Exercise Science who will contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs through high-quality teaching, an active program of research, and student mentorship. The successful candidate will bring expertise in exercise physiology and related areas that complements existing departmental strengths and supports the preparation of students for clinical, professional, and graduate careers. The faculty member will be expected to contribute to a collaborative academic environment and participate actively in the teaching, research, and service missions of the department.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related discipline by the date of appointment.

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Testing and Prescription, research Methods, and Experiential Learning/Capstone.
Postdoctoral research experience.
Professional certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (e.g., ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (e.g., CSCS), or another nationally recognized exercise science organization.
Evidence of collaborative scholarship or interdisciplinary research.
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Testing and Prescription, Research Methods, Experiential Learning/Capstone, and related kinesiology courses
Establishing and maintaining an active research program
Pursuing external funding
Advising and mentoring students
Engaging in service at the departmental, college, University, and professional discipline levels
