About The Position

The Associate/Professor of Clinical Psychiatry is a leadership role seeking a mid-career, senior physician-scholar with interests in teaching, patient care, and research. This position will also serve as Director of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program which has both inpatient and outpatient components, robust research groups, and excellent teaching opportunities in a major university-based institution. The Director should have administrative experience in leading clinical services involving multidisciplinary teams as well as extensive clinical experience in treating mood/anxiety disorders.

Requirements

MD Degree.
Completion of ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited residency in Psychiatry.
Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license, and must be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

Direct the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program.
Oversee an interdisciplinary team of clinicians providing both inpatient and outpatient care in the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program.
Attending physician on adult inpatient psychiatric unit, consultation-liaison service and in outpatient clinic.
Supervise fellows, residents, medical students, other trainees on inpatient, outpatient, and CL services.
Serve as on call attending in rotation with other adult attending physicians
Teach medical students and residents both on clinical rotations and in didics.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
