This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located at Auburn University in Auburn, AL. The Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies will be responsible for instructing cadets on Air Force organizational structure, mission, doctrine, leadership, customs and courtesies, operations, tactics, techniques, procedures, regulations, and policies. This role involves conducting classroom, laboratory, off-site, and experiential training activities, as well as evaluating student performance. Additionally, the position supports cadet training and development, including Leadership Laboratory (LLAB) activities, Professional Military Training (PMT), Professional Development Training (PDT), and physical fitness program oversight. Administrative duties include assisting with the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT), Field Training preparation, cadet evaluations, and monitoring academic progress. The role also involves performing cadet personnel and administrative actions, supporting enrollment processing, scholarship administration, and managing cadet records. Resource management and operational support include assisting with detachment resource management, lesson plan management, and supporting various boards and evaluations. Recruiting and outreach efforts are also a key part of the role, supporting AFROTC recruiting and retention objectives. Finally, the position is expected to conduct analysis of instructional effectiveness and support operations to identify process improvements.
