Associate Professor Instruction - Occupational Therapy
About The Position
The UTMB Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking multiple faculty members. The department has been approved to offer an Additional Location hybrid education program at Laredo, TX. Areas of expertise sought are Research methods, Theory, Mental Health, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, and Adult rehabilitation. Experience in developing a hybrid curriculum will be valued. The Department of Occupational Therapy at UTMB invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Faculty appointment is for our established residential OTD program in Galveston, Texas. We seek dynamic educators and scholars with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Adult Rehabilitation, Neurologic Rehabilitation, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Geriatrics, Research Methods, Occupational Therapy Theory and Foundations. Experience with hybrid or technology-enhanced teaching is desirable.
Requirements
- Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) or other doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related discipline (e.g., PhD, DHSc, DSc).
- Licensed Occupational Therapist, or eligible for licensure, in the State of Texas.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching in an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program.
- Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or hybrid/online education.
- Expertise in one or more of the specialty areas listed above.
- Record of scholarly activity and professional engagement.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and advising students in the entry-level OTD curriculum.
- Contributing to curriculum development and program assessment.
- Engaging in scholarship and professional service activities.
- Participating in departmental, school, and university committees.
- Supporting student success, fieldwork, and capstone experiences.
- Participating in faculty practice opportunities as applicable.
