The NCI-Designated Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) and the Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) are seeking a tenure-track Associate Professor to lead a new Implementation Science Initiative within the HCC Cancer Prevention and Control Program. This initiative aims to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into real-world improvements in cancer prevention, screening, treatment, and survivorship outcomes. The role involves providing expertise, infrastructure, training, and strategic partnerships to bridge the gap between evidence-based research and its adoption in clinical and community settings. The position offers opportunities for leadership, innovative research, mentorship, and collaboration with clinicians, researchers, community partners, and health systems. The successful candidate will serve as Associate Director of the Implementation Science Initiative, applying implementation science methods and frameworks to optimize cancer prevention and control innovations and practices. Ideal candidates will have a strong record of external funding (preferably from NIH/NCI or other federal agencies), a commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary research, and a track record of mentoring early-stage investigators and contributing to academic leadership.
