Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is a public two-year and four-year degree granting institution founded in 1909 by the New Mexico Constitution. NNMC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. NNMC operates from two campuses in Espanola and El Rito and serves an average of 1,500 students per semester. SUMMARY: Responsible for providing valuable contributions and leadership in the Department of Education through excellence in teaching, leadership, service, research, mentoring, and advising. Primary duties include overseeing and managing the department of Education, teaching lower and upper division courses in the program, supervising all faculty members in the department, maintain CAEP (NCATE) accreditation. Other duties include academic advising of students, working with advisory committees, developing relationships and collaboration with high school and Higher Education, monitoring student assessment, keeping updated inventories, developing curricula for effective teaching, participating in college committees and serving the community through outreach activities and other duties assigned by supervisor. This position may require overseeing the teaching of courses in evenings and/or on weekends and requires experience in the use of appropriate technology for performance of the listed responsibilities. This position currently reports to the Provost.
