About The Position

The Associate Professional Materials Ops position manages physical and systematic material flow through shipping, receiving, and other internal factory processes at Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s York Vehicle Operations facility, a final assembly plant that also performs manufacturing operations and produces replacement parts. The majority of the role’s time is spent on the shop floor. The position works with materials supervision, hourly staff, suppliers, and customers to support effective materials operations and department goals.

Requirements

Typically requires less than one year of related experience.
Proficient knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP software.
Extensive experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to carry out operation planner duties independently and dependably with minimal direction.
Leadership capabilities to direct hourly unionized employees as needed.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with materials supervision and hourly staff to help achieve department safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and sustainability goals.
Communicate and coordinate with suppliers and customers.
Resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies, inventory inaccuracies, and material shortages.
Support Harley-Davidson Continuous Improvement System activities.
Cross-train with other materials department staff roles and provide support as needed.
