Associate Product Manager

CodeHS•Chicago, IL
•$90,000 - $110,000•Onsite

About The Position

CodeHS is hiring an early-career Associate Product Manager to work within its engineering product team. The role owns projects within a product area from problem discovery through launch and adoption. The Associate Product Manager makes scope, specification, and tradeoff decisions for assigned projects and works closely with engineers. Broader prioritization decisions are initially made collaboratively, with more ownership developing as the employee demonstrates judgment. The role also provides exposure to cross-team priority-setting discussions. The position is based in CodeHS’s River North office in Chicago, five days per week. The company’s broader workforce is hybrid, including employees in other offices and remote employees, with whom this role will collaborate regularly. In-person work is emphasized to support rapid learning and mentorship. The Associate Product Manager is expected to prototype ideas using AI coding agents, document specifications and product reasoning, and speak with users—including teachers and district customers—when needed. The role connects engineering with sales, customer success, support, and curriculum teams by gathering and synthesizing their product and tooling needs. The role reports to Zach Galant, CTO and co-founder.

  • Ability to identify when an AI model is confidently wrong and describe an example.
  • High agency: able to develop plans for problems and raise concerns when the problem itself seems wrong.
  • Clear, concise communication, with the main point stated first.
