About The Position

The Associate, Product Management role at Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah, involves working directly with business and operational users to understand and translate functional requirements into technical solutions for the Firm’s trading platforms. The position requires designing, architecting, testing, and implementing intricate technical solutions for complex business problems, including large-scale backend infrastructure and APIs, using object-oriented programming and design patterns. Responsibilities include providing production support and maintenance, implementing critical bug fixes, and assisting in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents. The role also demands clear communication of ideas to non-technical users, working across a technology stack including Java, Python, Spring, AngularJS, React, BPMNs, RESTful web services, Elastic Search, Graph and DB2 database, Slang, Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS, as well as industry tools integration APIs. Utilization of design programs like FIGMA is expected. The Associate will function as or with a Product Manager to gather requirements and create user experiences, communicate with Engineers regarding design modifications based on technical limitations, and track changes throughout the project management cycle. Presenting to technical and non-technical staff, communicating design rationale, developing technical product roadmaps, and leading user acceptance testing are also key duties. Collaboration with external vendors to manage product lifecycles, track feature requests, and align vendor roadmaps with the Firm’s strategic priorities and technical requirements is essential.

Requirements

Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related field and one (1) year of experience in job offered or related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or role.
Working across the entire product lifecycle, from initial analysis and requirements gathering with users, through design, development, QA testing and production release.
Designing and developing secure systems using, Web components, Apex, RESTful webservices, Java, object-oriented language, and Javascript.
Utilizing SOQL query to debug errors and No-SOQL database tools such as Data loader or similar.
Developing process automation across product lifecycle using orchestration tools, including at least one of the following: Gradle, Maven, Git, Subversion, Confluence, or JIRA.

Responsibilities

Provide production support and maintenance including implementing critical bug fixes in a timely manner and assisting in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents.
Communicate ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system.
Work across a technology stack consisting of Java, Python, Spring, AngularJS, React, BPMNs, RESTful web services, Elastic Search, Graph and DB2 database, Slang (proprietary scripting language), Kubernetes, Kafka and AWS and industry tools integration API’s.
Utilize design programs, including FIGMA.
Function as a Product Manager or with a Product Manager to gather requirements and create user experiences.
Communicate and work with Engineers to determine if a design can be modified based on its technical limitations.
Track changes as part of the project management cycle.
Present in front of technical and non-technical staff and communicate the rationale for design decisions.
Develop technical product roadmaps and communicate to stakeholders.
Lead user acceptance testing.
Collaborate with external vendors to manage product lifecycles, including tracking feature requests and aligning vendor roadmaps with the Firm’s strategic priorities and technical requirements.
