About The Position

The Associate Producer-Technician at CBC/Radio-Canada in Iqaluit is responsible for staying informed about current events and news in Inuit Nunangat. This role requires a problem-solver who can address technical and editorial challenges. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for understanding the North, its diverse communities, culture, and content. The position involves preparing programming for broadcast, coordinating with the team, and staying updated on regional stories and events. The Associate Producer – Technician also provides crucial program support to hosts and other technicians by arranging remote broadcasts and maintaining updated equipment lists for events. They offer technical support and monitor equipment for incoming broadcasts, songs, and the daily lineup for the morning news. This role mandates a full-time on-site presence.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of the Inuit community and other diverse communities in the North
  • Fluent and ability to work in both Inuktitut and English
  • Enthusiastic team player with great communication skills
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends and nights
  • A combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Mandatory Criminal record check
  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position
