About The Position

The Associate Printer safely produces printed film while meeting accepted quality and productivity standards. The role performs basic setup, operation, and troubleshooting on at least one type of printing press, makes basic quality and line adjustments with limited support, and may cover Lead Printer duties as needed. The Associate Printer may manage more than one press at a time and works with team members to achieve department goals.

Requirements

At least six months of experience as an Assistant Operator; any deviation must be approved by the Production Manager.
Pass a color perception test.
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery.
Understanding of all quality procedures.
Completion of required FTA online training.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Good mathematical skills.
Commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

Perform all responsibilities of an Assistant Operator.
Perform basic setup, operation, and troubleshooting of at least one type of printing press.
Make basic quality and line adjustments with little support from others.
Perform Lead Printer duties with support as needed for vacation coverage, call-ins, and similar needs.
Gather travelers and sleeves from Pre Press and bring them to presses.
Load, unload, and manage Vista Port; may be required to manage more than one press at a time.
Set up the line for the correct wind based on the press schedule, traveler, and wind chart.
Set up the defect detection system, identify issues, and make necessary basic adjustments.
Read the schedule and perform changeovers.
Complete required production and quality records paperwork.
Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the work area.
Train employees at lower levels.
Work successfully with teams and team members to achieve department goals.
Follow plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and ISO procedures.
Work overtime as required.
