In addition to core Associate responsibilities, you will support advanced investment research, portfolio monitoring, and business development activities. You will deploy assets into suitable financial products aligned with clients’ risk profiles, engage in marketing initiatives to attract new clients, and address investment-related inquiries to help clients achieve their goals. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • CFA Charter designation.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive investment experience in institutional portfolio management, multi-asset research, or wealth management.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting third-party manager due diligence across global equity, fixed income, and alternative investment categories.
  • Proven track record contributing to alpha generation in actively managed equity strategies.
  • Experience developing and communicating macro/asset allocation views in a client-facing context.
  • Proficiency with investment analytics platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tools and their application in financial research workflows.
  • General experience with quantitative factor models, performance attribution systems, and risk management frameworks.
  • Solid Excel and financial modeling capability (scenario analysis, DCF, portfolio construction).
  • Intellectual curiosity and intellectual honesty along with a genuine desire to be right, not just consistent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex investment ideas into accessible client-facing content.
  • Comfort operating in a high-performance, entrepreneurial team environment where initiative is rewarded.
  • Collaborative and ego-light.

Nice To Haves

  • CAIA designation (strongly preferred) given alternatives mandate.
  • MBA or other relevant post-graduate credentials (asset).
  • Prior experience in wealth management, family office, or private banking environments serving high net worth clients (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow client portfolios by providing trusted investment advice, proactive client service, and dedicated relationship management.
  • Support advanced investment research, portfolio monitoring, and business development activities.
  • Deploy assets into suitable financial products aligned with clients’ risk profiles.
  • Engage in marketing initiatives to attract new clients.
  • Address investment-related inquiries to help clients achieve their goals.
  • Assist senior portfolio managers in the day-to-day management of North American equity strategies, including monitoring quantitative and factor-based models, supporting sector research, and generating investment ideas.
  • Support due diligence and monitoring of third-party investment managers across global equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies.
  • Help maintain externally managed model portfolios and track performance.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the team’s asset allocation framework and macro outlook.
  • Assist in synthesizing macroeconomic signals and translating them into actionable investment guidance.
  • Support the management of external data subscriptions, research platforms, and market data services.
  • Assist with the deployment and oversight of AI tools integrated into the investment research process.
  • Help produce investment-related blog posts, client letters, and thematic research pieces.
  • Support the team in communicating market views and investment insights to clients and prospects.
  • Participate in investment presentations, prospect pitches, and top client review meetings.
  • Support business development activities and relationship deepening with internal banking partners.
  • Develop investment plans and written proposals for prospects and clients.
  • Analyze information/trends and apply it to individual client circumstances.
  • Participate in seminars for clients and prospects, in collaboration with team members.
  • Support advanced investment research, manager analytics, and macro analysis in partnership with senior team members.
  • Engage with AI-enabled research platforms and data infrastructure to enhance investment process and client service.
