About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch in Niles, Illinois. In this frontline role, the banker builds customer relationships through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ financial goals and connects them with relevant banking products, services, and digital tools. The position supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while partnering with branch teammates to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Strong relationship building, sound judgment, and balancing customer service with growth are central to success. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support career development and mobility. The role supports branch operations by flexing between cash handling and customer banking activities, with an emphasis on account openings and ongoing account support. The work schedule includes Saturdays. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the employee starts. Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies concerning financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background. A credit report may be reviewed, excluding credit score, and additional ongoing screening may apply. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo will initiate the process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies concerning financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.
Ability to follow applicable policies and regulations, fulfill risk and compliance obligations, and identify and escalate risk concerns.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in financial services or a highly regulated, customer-facing role, with comfort following structured processes and meeting accuracy and service expectations.

Responsibilities

Lead discovery-driven conversations to understand customer needs and connect them with relevant banking products, services, and solutions.
Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to support branch growth and customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
Handle cash and perform teller-line activities, accurately processing transactions while maintaining compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support evolving banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service while exercising sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Collaborate with branch teammates to coordinate handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists so customers are connected to appropriate expertise.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities to support branch operations and account servicing.
