The Associate Patient Care Coordinator provides patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques and conforms to recognized standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

  • Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff and patients
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and maintain a culture consistent with the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook.
  • Greet patients, answer the telephone, route calls/tasks, book appointments, verify insurance coverage, act as cashier for payments, and prepare for appointments.
  • Greet and check patients in, verify current demographics and insurance coverage, and notify back-office staff of patient arrival.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the referral process.
  • Use correct search criteria to avoid duplicate documentation and enter information in the EHR.
  • Contact the assistant or provider promptly for acutely ill patients.
  • Direct patient flow and prepare patients for exams.
  • Proactively monitor and manage provider schedules for accuracy.
  • Actively participate in the cleaning of shared work areas.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • May work at multiple sites as determined by department necessity.
  • Conduct patient outreach.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
