About The Position

The Associate Pastor of Discipleship facilitates the spiritual growth of men, women, and children of Riverview Alliance Church. Working as a team with the Lead Pastor and Elders, the pastor coordinates, oversees, and provides leadership for outreach, evangelism, and spiritual growth ministries directed toward younger families, young adults, youth, and children in Oconto Falls and the surrounding area. Although this is not a Youth Pastor position, the Associate Pastor will oversee and be involved in youth ministries. The position also includes developing a social media presence for the church, participating in worship ministries, and filling the pulpit as needed in coordination with the Lead Pastor. The Associate Pastor may also participate in or officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and community events, and may assist with other church ministries. The Associate Pastor is directly accountable to the Lead Pastor, is expected to submit monthly reports to the church’s Governing Board, and will participate and contribute as needed in Elders’ meetings. Applicants should submit an application that includes a testimony, résumé, and other relevant background information. The position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance; candidates must be ordained or willing to begin the Alliance ordination process.

Requirements

Meet the qualifications of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3.
Agree with the Christian and Missionary Alliance statement of faith.
Be licensed by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Be ordained or willing to begin the Christian and Missionary Alliance ordination process.
Profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Be fully committed to serving Jesus Christ and living under His Lordship.
Be a student of the Word of God.
Be committed to personal spiritual transformation and growth.
If married, lead a godly family.
Be self-motivated.
Have a passion for the lost.
Be able to develop caring relationships with young families and youth.
Be willing to submit to those in authority.

Responsibilities

Work as a team with the Lead Pastor and Elders.
Develop outreach and evangelism ministries targeting young families in Oconto Falls and the surrounding area.
Develop and oversee discipleship ministries for children, youth, young adults, and young families.
Oversee and participate in youth ministries.
Lead development of a social media presence for Riverview Alliance Church.
Attend and participate directly in the church’s worship ministries.
Fill the church pulpit as necessary and in coordination with the Lead Pastor.
Participate in or officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and community events as requested.
Assist with other church ministries as needed.
Provide a monthly report to the church’s Governing Board.
Participate and contribute as needed in Elders’ meetings.
