About The Position

The Associate Operator, Packaging supports manufacturing operations by assisting with production equipment setup and operation, inspecting products and processes, maintaining clean work areas, ensuring products are labeled and stored properly, and documenting production activity. The role also assists with training new personnel under supervisor guidance and performs calibration on specified equipment as instructed. This is a second-shift position eligible for a 15% shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Good mechanical, communication, time management, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stoop, climb ladders or stairs, and stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to wear a respirator.
Ability to hear an alarm.
Ability to identify small defects.
Ability to distinguish between colors.

Nice To Haves

Up to two years of experience is preferred; a combination of experience and/or education will be considered.

Responsibilities

Visually inspect products during operation and monitor equipment and processes for proper operation; seek maintenance assistance for problems and recommend improvements.
Assist with setup and operation of production equipment.
Prepare and clean manufacturing rooms and equipment for inspection as required, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Ensure products are properly labeled and stored.
Document material runs using Batch Production records, In-Process Sheets, Log Books, and Time Sheets.
Assist in training new personnel in manufacturing operations under supervisor guidance.
Perform calibration on scales, line meters, coating ovens, micrometers, and other equipment as instructed.
