Zayo serves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content, finance, healthcare and other large enterprises. Zayo is seeking an Associate Network Construction Manager to join our team. Our Associate Network Construction Manager will have experience with outside plant, inside plant cable, Utility Pole, and ground facilities, with a thorough knowledge of all issues related to local and state permitting, pole and conduit licensing procedures from Utilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Oversight relocation and enterprise projects will include activities related to above and below-ground fiber installation, and related utility make-ready. Our Associate Network Construction Manager ensures all assigned projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon timeline and budget of the customer and Zayo; ensures all work is conducted in accordance with Zayo policies and procedures in support of Zayo objectives; and represents Zayo as the expert on construction issues relating to the new or modifying installation of the infrastructure - this may include the planning for and oversight of work on relocation of facilities in our fiber network.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards
  • Knowledge of construction management process
  • Knowledge of permitting, NJUNS, SPANs
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Ability to manage, organize, and process multiple overlying project activities.
  • Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach - strong interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Ability to pass MVR check and drive company vehicle in accordance with Fleet Policy.
  • Ability to visit project sites and walk in construction areas.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of telecommunications/wireless industry experience with preference to both Outside Plant and Inside Plant fiber construction.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Kick-Off meetings to support Construction Managers and Project Managers in all aspects of fiber construction work.
  • Utilize PowerBI and other business intelligence tools to analyze data summaries and predictive visualizations for OTP, CRM assignments, etc.
  • Attend transportation and other customer meetings as subject matter expert for Crown.
  • Develop customer relationships that may result in influencing customers to award service work to Crown.
  • Assist Construction Manager with trips to sites during construction including site survey, Contractor Site Safety Inspections, and construction closeout.
  • Clear conflicts for PADOT, DELDOT, and NJDOT.
  • Respond in the different jurisdictions operating systems.
  • Handle all pole transfers including scheduling the vendors.
  • Create the PO and reconciling the invoice interacting with Vendors.
  • Manage NJUNS and SPANS.
  • Coordinate between the utilities and the vendors for a completion schedule.
  • Work Relocation projects.
  • Submit the Change Management tickets.
  • Create pole maps and work orders including assignments.
  • Assist with the over lash applications to the power companies.
  • Provide direction to general contractors aligned to job specifications.
  • Develop a working knowledge of permitting and licensing process in Public and Private right of way and how they vary by municipality and pole owners.
  • Ensure Team Management, Project Managers, and customers are aware of issues that will impact project completion or cost.
  • Develop proficiency reviewing As Built drawings to validate quantities.
  • Ensure that all jobs are maintained in our project tracking system with complete accuracy.
  • Be available as an escalation point to engage General Contractors on corrective actions post internal closeout review.
  • Observe and learn from Network Construction Managers working with Project Managers, Fiber Engineers, Network Operations Center (NOC), Field Operations, and Customers.
