Under general supervision, the Associate Medical Staff is responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. This role provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification. The position involves interviewing donors and performing medical history reviews to gather information for plasma donation suitability. The Associate Medical Staff will also respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability in conjunction with the Center Medical Director. Responsibilities include reviewing test results to determine continued donor suitability, assessing donor symptoms that may affect their ability to donate, and notifying/counseling donors regarding reactive test results, referring them to community facilities for follow-up. Routine care is provided following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with critical medical situations escalated to the Center Physician or local medical service providers as required.
