About The Position

The Associate forms a viable part of the Introba management team and is responsible for managing their respective Project Design Team. They are fully responsible and accountable for their design team staff, regularly review staffing and distribute tasks effectively and consistently with staff skill sets. By providing technical support and management resources essential to Introba, the Associate ensures that design decision-making and team management accountability take place. Introba provides world-class building engineering design, analytic, and consulting services at all scales, specializing in net-zero first thinking. Through the cultivation of thought leadership, we deliver sustainable and forward-thinking solutions to the most complex design challenges facing the world’s leading clients and partners.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of specific HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design experience
  • Experience in mechanical site inspections, field review reports, and attendance at site meetings.
  • Familiarity with the BC Building Code and Vancouver Building By-law is essential
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience in consulting engineering
  • Superior interpersonal skills with clients and staff
  • Communication and Coaching skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Professional Engineer (CEng, PEng or equivalent), Applied Science Technologist (AScT) designation, or eligibility to apply

Responsibilities

  • Provide the Management Team with staff performance criteria and information on all design staff
  • Meet regularly with all team members to identify issues and put action plans in place
  • Provide workload forecasting as new projects are secured and provide progress analysis regarding prospective unsecured projects (integrating efforts of the Marketing Team)
  • Update Introba accounting system information for effective use by the Marketing Team
  • Recommend distribution of new work based on staff availability as established by the team workload requirements
  • Represent Introba at meetings with project clients and other project stakeholders as required
  • Company representative at related association meetings, plus dealing with city, provincial and federal officials
  • Train staff in all phases of design process to insure continuation of technical design operation when absent from the office or when staff is on vacation
  • Utilize leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction
  • Effect and implement programs to improve the quality of our service, products and systems to meet client's requirements and expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company's competitive position
  • Instill the concept of quality being the responsibility of every design team member. Promote quality issues with all members and in particular ensures that the quality control function is effectively performed
  • Utilized the quality assurance and control programs in the company
  • Assure adequate field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents
  • Effect studies to determine cause, effect and corrective actions required to remedy deviations impairing desired standards
