About The Position

IHOP is seeking a new marketing team member who is passionate about helping the brand expand its off-premise business. Off-premise sales account for about 20% of IHOP’s sales mix, driving significant sales growth momentum and expanding the brand’s digital reach, letting IHOP meet guests where they are. The Associate Manager of Off-Premise Marketing will be focused on executing day-to-day marketing operations and analysis of guest-facing initiatives, including but not limited to IHOP ‘N Go online menu & ordering, catering, 3rd party delivery, packaging, digital promotions, and other eCommerce channels. Working with the Senior Manager, Off-Premise Marketing, this role will need to utilize a technical and analytical acumen to be able to navigate and learn new platforms and non-traditional marketing opportunities. A highly qualified candidate will be able to develop new off-premise focused marketing campaigns and be responsible for marketing and menu projects within the cross-functional implementation of all off-premise sales driving program initiatives, including native channel, third party delivery, catering, and virtual brand programs. This is a fast-paced, high-growth area for IHOP, and the right candidate will not only have a strong interest to learn how things work and help develop processes and efficiencies, but also be ready to think out of the box and roll up their sleeves.

Requirements

  • College degree required
  • 3-4 years of experience in project management, product development, business analytics, or brand management/marketing campaign execution in a national chain restaurant or consumer products goods (CPG) environment preferred
  • Strong project management and attention to detail required; ability to manage multiple projects
  • Highly detail-driven, solution-oriented, and analytical mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with internal/external partners
  • Passion for food and consumer insights
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve and respond quickly to changes in direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred
  • Experience running direct-to-consumer eCommerce platforms and programs within a national restaurant chain strongly preferred
  • Franchise-based business experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Brand Calendar team to incorporate off-premise opportunities within brand pillars, communications and product development.
  • Develops impactful menu, pricing, and promotional initiatives to build delivery and online orders, sales, and profitability.
  • Maintains effective cost controls in support of these initiatives and all promotions with 3rd party partners.
  • Partners with internal teams to craft campaign briefs for both internal and external partners in creative production.
  • Continuously evaluates and improves the end-to-end guest experience, including proactive recommendations for digital menu updates and leading campaign postmortems and reporting.
  • Organizes and drives day-to-day progress of programs with regard to calendar, budget, and scope.
  • Drafts systemwide communications and assist franchisees with promotions, menu, packaging and other marketing related needs.
  • Maintains a promotional calendar informed by a test and learn approach and aligned to the IHOP leadership and franchisee teams.
  • Build support and rapport through effective communication across the organization
  • Partner with the culinary and operations teams for go-to-market strategies for off-premise offerings, menu development, and packaging.
  • Builds strong partnerships with cross-functional finance, operations, supply chain, and technology teams to translate strategic ideas into action - including menu innovations, platform integrations, marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Works with internal teams to conduct ongoing customer research to monitor quality of delivery and online orders.
  • Create and present professional level updates as needed.
  • Update project performance to manager, cross-functional team, and partners/agencies on an ongoing basis.
  • Present projects grounded in insights with clarity and enthusiasm to the cross-functional team & leadership.
  • Understand the importance of being nimble and can quickly pivot if a project is directed differently by leadership.
  • Monitor business performance and industry trends to become a category and channel expert.
  • Partner with Business Analytics and Consumer Insights to interpret data and develop fact-based recommendations based on approved success criteria when needed.
