About The Position

The Merchant Team at DoorDash is a significant contributor to the company's growth and revenue, focusing on powering various business facets. The Merchant Strategy & Ops team specifically aims to secure the best restaurant selection, develop innovative services for merchants, and ensure seamless partner operations. This role is within the Merchant Selection team, responsible for negotiating optimal deals with merchants to sustainably grow restaurant selection. The Associate Manager will own the Merchant Retention function, working to maintain existing platform selection by partnering with account teams to drive value for both merchants and DoorDash. Key responsibilities include modeling deal opportunities, creating processes to predict and prevent churn, developing sales pitches, and making strategic trade-offs for optimal investment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, finance, analytics, or business operations.
  • Financial modeling experience.
  • Proven track record of analytical problem solving.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and stakeholders.
  • Experience succeeding in a fast-moving environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to deliver actionable recommendations from complex datasets.
  • Bachelors Degree or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and execute initiatives against the overall Selection strategy, focused on maximizing value from merchant agreements.
  • Build the merchant revenue engine to ensure DoorDash offers high-quality selection and retains merchants.
  • Equip other teams with necessary resources and incorporate feedback into actionable strategies.
  • Own the Merchant Retention function.
  • Partner closely with account teams to drive value for merchants and DoorDash.
  • Size and model deal opportunities.

  • Build compelling packages for sales teams to pitch.
