About The Position

This role is for an Engineering & Technology (E&T) Manager in the Orlando Software Engineering Department. The position is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, code and unit testing, and hardware/software integration and verification. The individual will develop embedded software in C++ and Linux operating system within an Agile environment, utilizing tools such as JIRA, Git, and Confluence. The role requires applying appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related sciences
  • Implementation and Verification & Validation testing
  • Familiarity with C++
  • Experience with software design
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Managing the development of C++ code
  • Software requirement definition, design, code, test, integration, and verification activities for simulation software.
  • Management and development of the team
  • Providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
  • Coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development.
  • Supporting program development, execution of program requirements, adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program
