Associate Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship (Nights)
About The Position
This program offers a unique opportunity to get paid while attending college, earning college credits, and launching a high-tech career in advanced manufacturing. As a Technician Apprentice at GlobalFoundries, you will earn a paycheck, gain hands-on technical experience, and complete college coursework. This program is ideal for individuals graduating high school, completing a technical center program, changing careers, or seeking an alternative to a traditional college path. You will learn to maintain and troubleshoot advanced equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing, supporting technologies that power smartphones, vehicles, medical devices, and communication systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical education
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule
- Ability to work in a semiconductor cleanroom environment
- Ability to wear all required cleanroom protective clothing and equipment throughout a shift (excluding breaks)
- Ability to stand for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds periodically throughout the shift
- Travel requirement: 0-5%

Responsibilities
- Learn semiconductor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and first-call maintenance activities
- Complete technical coursework through Vermont State University
- Work alongside skilled technicians and engineers
- Follow quality, safety, and operational procedures
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
